Anonymous asked: I get there's plenty wrong in some zoos and how they work and treat the animals, but aren't they mostly doing good work? I mean their programmes to help endangered species to revive their population, tending animals that are hurt or harmed in nature and so on? that's just how I've understood so I'd like to hear more
Zoos don’t help animals as much as they’d like you to believe.
More than 50% of captive animals worldwide aren’t even endangered. Zoos have had little to no success with captive breeding programs. Specialized centers that are not open to the public, on the other hand have, with species such as the Partula Snail, British Field Cricket, and Przewalski Horse.
Here’s some other bs claims they often make.
